Sunday Debbie and I shopping at Marina Square. Then we were going towards the toilet and I saw a Malay young lady looks familiar to me. Then suddenlt she said,"Billy?" Then I was like "Faha! That's really you! You are married! and that is your kid?!" then she said, "Ya Ya!" I was so happy to see her again and amazingly saw her with her own 2 months old baby boy! It's an amazing feeling that your long lost good friend born a baby. I was so happy and still got the feeling of the amazing feeling that my good friend got a baby. haa... And she told me that another malay girl classmate is getting married on December and got another classmate expected to born a baby on next year Feb! Wah! Amazing!!!! When I thought back when we were in secondary school, we ran around, play basketball, study, mugging for exam, appraising each other, eat canteen food together, talking cock while teacher on MC. And now, most of them got baby and expecting baby and getting married. It's so wonderful~~~

Today I had lunch with Debbie, so after lunch I accompanied her back to her office, while we waiting for the traffic light, it located between Bugis Junction and Bugis Village, to turn green, there's an Ah Bei (old uncle) blowed his whistle, at the same time walked across and stopped at the center of the road, he is so nice he even stopped all the cars and waved to signal all the predestrian to across. Of course no one move and all the predestrian are laughing. haa ...

Then after I sent Debbie back to office, I took bus back to my office. The sky was drizzling. When the bus almost reached a bus stop outside Caltex House, I saw an Ah Bei (old uncle), under the bus stop shelter, back facing the road, put his hand out of the shelter to see whether was the rain stopped. Then I think the bus driver didn't see and the bus knocked on the Ah Bei(old uncle)'s hand and he "Ough!" loud. It's so loud even I can hear and the bus is air-con bus. Luckily the bus was slowing down, if not the Ah Bei(old uncle)'s hand will injured seriously.

Today I read an article in the newspaper about a stupid man think his joke very funny, that leads him fined $10,000. He took a plane from Australia to Jakarta. On the plane he tried to put his 3 luggages on the top shelf but he can't. So he asked the air strewardess for help. Then the air stewardess told him try to put on other shelf. Then he replied, "Where did you put the bomb?" And that alerted the pilot and other air strewards. He was removed and the plane flied off after a mins later. This guy was charged $10,000 for 6 words that he said.

Today got 4 wah in a row ah ... In the morning I reached City Hall MRT Station, I met Wang Liling face to face. She was carrying her daughter, wearing sunglasses (she think no one will recognise her), bun up her hair, V neck cat sleeves t-shirt and 3 quarter pants. I looked at her all the way, I think she noticed me but she act nothing, just walked straight. Looks like those pretty young mother. Very attractive. wah~

As I was working in Haggai Institute, they held the course in Holiday Inn which near Zouk. My duty was just to prepare all the AV kind of things like set mic, make sure mic are loaded with batteries and other AV things la. Then I attended one of the lesson and the lecturer shows a video on Gospel Rally in Nigeria. Wah! If you see this video, you will think City Harvest's gospel rally is nothing, is too small. The number of people in the gospel rally in Nigeria is over 10,000 people. All of them waving their hand. The video camera shot from top far view, the whole scene really looks like a super big field full of wheat, wind blow and the wheat just wave. Now I know why we always use Harvest, besides the common meaning that we know, another meaning is visually the people waving in the air looks like wheats waiting for harvest. I almost tear drop when I saw the scenery. Wah~

After whole day of work, I took a lift in the hotel down to 1st floor and go home, on the 16th floor, the life stopped and the lift door open, I saw a chinese man from china who looks 55 yr old, wearing a white singlet with a light blue UNDERWEAR! Oh my goodness! He dared to do that in a 4 star hotel!!! That is ridiculous! I dunno how other tourist react if they saw this! He got off on 10th floor and walk to his room or someone's room. Well, is at 9.30pm. I dunno what he is doing at this time with his undewear and walking around.

Then after that I touched 1st floor, I saw 4 beautiful ladies who dress very high class, very beautiful faces, tall and slim and they speak china chinese. WAH! But sad to say, they are the prostitute. I felt sad for them. And this lead me to think of why the old man wearing underwear and go from 16th floor to 10th floor, which makes me more sad.

Sigh...

After few days of consideration, I finally decided to resign from my company. Well, it's not really suit what I want to do, bcos it's too corporate and no creativity can apply. Imagine I have to read all the past Annual Report of a company to know what they want, I think it's tough for me as my english not that good, I rather have a AE to summarise it and I do the design. So before my creativity died off, I have to go. Details of what my boss' conversation with me, I won't be stated here. Well, no matter what she said, I just hold my temper, bcos my main purpose is to leave the company on that day I tendered my letter and not to argue with her. But I missed my creative director who is the boss husband, my colleagues who are my schmates and the photographer who is a Christian.

While looking for a new job, now I am working as a part time in a Christian Organisation called Haggai Institute as a A.V. Technician. Haggai Institute is to train Christian leaders around the world. It's a very good opportunity for me to meet all those people who are from Brazil, Uganda and some other places. It's very nice to chat with them, know them more about their life in their country. I think I made a right choice to resign from my job. Since I start working, I seldom talk to people, but thank God I have a chance to chat with the people who come from other country.

Some real experience that I have been through wanna share with those who just graduated from school and are going to enter the working jungle.

For example my pay is $1000 per month. After CPF deduction (20%) will left $800 for me to bring home. I started work on 25th of September (Mon). But my employer said will add into October's pay. So supposingly the total amount that I will get is $1000 + ($1000 / 21 working days X 5 days that I required to work) = $1238. But in the end I only received $1193.5. So there's $44.5 different. So I went to my employer and asked about the mistake of the calculation. And you know what, the way of their calculation is $1000 / 31 days x 6days = 1193.5.

Then I asked why divided the salary using 31 days instead of 21 working days? Then they said oh, is supposed to calculate like that, they include saturdays and sundays inside the calculation. But both days are not working days. So if I divided into 31 days, means I only worth $25.80 instead of 21 days which is $38.10. Then I was blurred liao. But I didn't agued back because I can't win my employer because my employer has more experience in this "jungle" than me. So I went home and check the Ministry of Manpower website to find out more. Then after that I found out that my employer's calculation is wrong. My employer shld not include the saturdays and sundays in the calculation, according to MOM, the calculation supposed to like this:

The basic rate of pay for one day is to be calculated according to the following formula:

12 x monthly basic rate of pay
52 x number of days on which the employee is required to work in a week.

That's why Letter of Appointment is very important to an employee because all the terms and conditions and agreement are all inside. And you will know how they calculate pro rate salary and can also confirm how many days of leaves you will get.

Without this letter means you don't have a protection for yourself and work for them blindly. ANd one more thing is pay slip, this one must get from them because usually (for design firm) they lazy to give pay slip and Letter of Appointment. So go and ask for it. Because pay slip will break down the salary into section so you will know how they calculate and also if they cheat, you can bring the pay slip to MOM, so they will help you to ask for money.
